— I’d like to get to know you better.

— Oh really! And why is that?

— Let’s just say you’re different from the others, and we have a lot in common.

— You’re quite the charmer, aren’t you? You must be very popular with the girls.

— But what about you? Do you like me?

— I suppose you could say I like you.

— Are you just saying that to please me, or is it truly coming from the heart?

To fall in love requires feelings, sometimes shared and other times not. Falling in love follows no logic; it doesn't take into account our aspirations, our tastes, or our desires when it comes to seduction. Isn't love one of the greatest gifts nature can offer humanity? Isn't the ability to love a precious gift?

— Did you see? Melissa hasn't stopped looking at you for a while now. I think she has a crush on you.

— How would you know, Herick?

— It’s true, I might not know for sure, but one thing is certain: I’m not blind.

Is there any point in loving when we know we must go through suffering and pain? Knowing that it is not, and cannot be, eternal despite all promises—that is the harsh reality of this great gift. Some lose themselves in the process, finding it at times too difficult to handle and too long. Others, for fear of facing this reality, have chosen to flee or give up. Wounds leave scars and uncertainties, a pain that reminds us of just how much we have suffered. Adventures repeat, stories become shorter and shorter, and the uncertainty of the unknown becomes the certainty of a disastrous end.
