​Mélissa: "Hi! Max! It’s Mélissa. I’m calling to tell you that our plans are cancelled; I won't be able to make it because of a small issue."

​Max: "Yes, of course I understand. It’s just that it bothers me a bit that you cancelled everything at the last minute."

​Mélissa: "Please don’t be mad, we’ll have another chance some other time."

​Max: "Yo Herick!"

​Herick: "Yo Max."

​Max: "Are we still on for this afternoon?"

​Herick: "Let me guess, she flaked on you, didn't she?"

​Max: "You could say that."

​Herick: "I knew it. Well, look, this afternoon is a bust, bro. Louis is supposed to go on a date with his girlfriend, Jean-Michel had some issue, and I’m stuck at home with my little sister. So, nobody’s coming."

​Max: "Alright bro, see ya, bye!"

​Herick: "Wait! Seriously, did she really cancel? What was her excuse?"

​Max: "Forget it! I know you’re not asking because you’re worried about me, but just so you can make fun of me and say 'I told you so,' right?"

​Herick: "Man! It’s scary how well you know me. But you know I’m not as mean as you say and that I’ll always want the best for you. Also, admit it—the way she blew you off is pretty funny."

​Max: "Yeah, to be honest, deep down I knew it wouldn't have worked out between us anyway."

​Herick: "Don’t say that, don’t give up so fast. Who knows, maybe she really couldn't make it. You have to look on the bright side; at least you know for sure she likes you."

​Max: "I’m not looking for 'appreciation,' at least not like that. I just want her to be real and honest with me."
