Energy Eater

Some people are predators who feed on energy

According to scientific studies, man is a carnivorous and omnivorous animal. These characteristics define both his way of feeding and his nature. <<"Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are">> Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, published in 1825 in his Physiologie du goût, ou méditations de gastronomie transcendante (The Physiology of Taste, or Meditations on Transcendent Gastronomy), which still generates debate and is taken up by others. With years of evolution and research, man has discovered that in his deepest being he is also energivore (energy-consuming).

We all know that energy, in general, is a physical quantity associated with the notion of work. Energy is conserved, exchanged in multiple forms, but always degrading. The primary meaning of the word energy is that of a moral virtue: the moral and physical energy that an individual must mobilize to accomplish a given task (Wikipedia). But in this case, we are talking more specifically about spiritual energy which, put forward in disciplines such as psychology or osteopathy, can be seen as quackery. Intrinsically linked also to animistic beliefs, spiritual energy is part of the vibratory flows that govern the laws of the Earth and the Universe. At the heart of these synergies are the primordial principles of balance and harmony. Spiritual energy is that generated by the inner "self." It is this part of ourselves that believers call the soul. A person's energy level is determined by their actions and is influenced by their values and beliefs. These define who we are, why we live, and what we perceive as good or bad.

"Energivore" is a term used to designate someone or something that consumes a large quantity of energy. Indeed, energy is the invisible fuel of man's material and immaterial body; he needs it on the physical, mental, and spiritual (religious) levels. It helps him with his motivation, physical health, etc. It is well known that human beings have always been voracious, greedy, selfish, and manipulative. This has earned him his racial superiority, but his desire, his insatiable need to always want more and more, does not make him different from other species, except that he destroys himself. The energivore man, as the name indicates, is one who feeds on energy, whether his own or that of others. A person described as energivore exhibits characteristic traits linked to narcissistic and manipulative disorders. We know that human relationships are investments of time, emotional resources, energy, etc. These investments primarily require the commitment of the parties to want to prioritize the relationship and maintain the bond(s).

In love or in friendship, in a romantic or friendly relationship, the investments are increasingly important. It requires at least equitable and proportional investments from both parties for good development and functioning. Because we know that a relationship where one party is more invested than the other can only lead to the manipulation, isolation, and disappointment of the more invested party. It is in this precise case that the so-called "energivore person" or "energy vampire" comes into play. When one is in love, one invests, one is invested. We invest what is most dear to us: our time, our energy, our resources, etc. Knowing energivore people, often jaded, narcissistic, and unhappy in their being, they do not miss the opportunity to siphon off energy if needed. Sometimes they do not do it intentionally because, for them, it is second nature. Often victims themselves during their life or having been victims during their childhood, it leads them to find a certain satisfaction in seeing others empty themselves of their energy, in feeling like they feel. In seeing the emptiness in them, in seeing them become discouraged.
