A mother is not defined; she is what signifies a pure love, a guide, an attentive ear, an outstretched hand, a soothing gaze. A protector, a shield, and sometimes a martyr ready to sacrifice herself for her child.

Being a mother or being a parent means being strong; it requires courage, patience, and an extraordinary sense of sacrifice—something a mother knows and experiences every day.

What is a Mother?

A mother is not only the biological carrier of a fetus that will grow and become a living being in their own right; she is also, from a biological and physiological standpoint, a meaning, a centerpiece in the life of the couple. Just as with the absence of a father in a home, a child who grows up without a mother's love will experience difficulties in their relationships with women.

What Does it Mean to Be a Mother?

Beyond everyday gestures, being a mother also involves transmitting values and traditions. Mothers often play a role in cultural transmission, whether it be recipes, stories, or family traditions.

This transmission goes far beyond explicit content. It also happens through example. A mother who demonstrates kindness, patience, or determination often inspires these qualities in her children.

We can also make a distinction between a good mother and a bad one.

A good mother is a loving, caring mother; there are different lists that define a good mother.

Some of them say that a good mother manages every day to bathe the children, clean the house, prepare the healthiest lunch…

They also say that good mothers spend every moment with their children, that they are infinitely patient, that everything in their life unfolds exactly as they had planned.

This is not necessarily true because, first and foremost, a mother is a person with distinct feelings and emotions, which leads her most of the time to make mistakes, to become impatient, and even to give up.

Preconceived ideas and expectations have always sparked debate between what is conceived by one and what is conceived by the other, but in a different way.

We all know that society has always governed moral laws, but also that some things are naturally connected.
