The experience benefits and harms.

Experience increases wisdom and knowledge, but it can also destroy the soul.

An experience is a chain of events from which one can draw a lesson through feedback. Knowledge derived from experience is contrasted with that which stems from theoretical elaboration.

The experience of a person is the totality of knowledge they have acquired through practice, and not only through formal teaching. When this knowledge is socially shared and constructed in intersubjectivity, it is social experience.

In philosophy, experience is a central concept of pragmatism, as opposed to idealist doctrines that presuppose a priori knowledge (Wikipedia).

Wisdom (equivalent to σοφία / sophía in Ancient Greek) is a concept used to qualify an individual's behavior, often conforming to an ethics, combining self and other-awareness, temperance, prudence, sincerity, discernment, and justice, based on reasoned knowledge [1], [2].

1. Action, fact of understanding, of knowing the properties, characteristics, and specific features of something: The knowledge of nature.

2. Operation by which the human mind proceeds to the analysis of an object, a reality, and defines its nature: Intuitive knowledge.

Knowledge

Action, fact of understanding, of knowing the properties, characteristics, and specific features of something: The knowledge of nature. Operation by which the human mind proceeds to the analysis of an object, a reality, and defines its nature: Intuitive knowledge (Larousse definition).

  • Knowledge by experience is knowledge acquired through experience, as opposed to a priori knowledge (before experience): it can also be contrasted with both propositional (manual) knowledge and practical knowledge.

  • The soul is the principle of life and thought in man. In the Holy Scripture, the term soul designates human life but also what is most intimate in man.

Experience Increases Knowledge

As stated in the lines above, knowledge by experience is knowledge acquired through experience. But it also allows one to increase knowledge already acquired in a field. Experience itself, being considered a form of knowledge, increases intelligence and understanding.

Experience Can Destroy the Soul

In both senses of the term based on their definition, the soul can be affected by experience. We also know that based on its most common definition, two types of experience result: a good experience and a bad experience.

A good and a bad experience is the result of a set of tragic or joyful events lived during a given period.

Given that the soul is also defined as a principle of life, movement, and thought in man, and experience itself, in its current form, is a set of events or things lived, ongoing within a determined period.

We can say that thoughts guide will and choice, and in some cases affect 80% of a person's life. Therefore, experience can increase knowledge and wisdom, but it can also influence and destroy the soul.
